Support DMCA House Reform Bill

If you value your rights in the digital age, then I urge you all to let your representative know about it.

The EFF has done a excellent job of making it easy for you to contant your house representative regarding HR-1201, a bill that aims to reform the DMCA. The DMCA isn’t totally useless, but in its current form it gives more power to the producer (Intel, Microsoft, Abode, Apple, RIAA, MPAA, et al) and can handicap the consumer (that’s you and me). Can you make backups of your DVDs that you legally purchased? Currently you can not. The RIAA has even waffled on whether you can rip your own CDs. There is some overlap with regards to copyright law and some of these copying activities, but companies have been abusing the DMCA and slowly eroding our digital freedoms. Help put a stop to corporate abuse.
